Sourcing & Inventory Manager (Handicraft, Handloom & Natural Products)

Location: Okhla, Delhi

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sourcing & Inventory Manager to oversee the procurement and management of our diverse range of handicraft, handloom, and natural products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both management principles and the intricacies of the artisanal product market. They will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Procurement:

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and artisans specializing in handicrafts, handlooms, and natural products.

- Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with artisans and suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships.

- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new product opportunities.

- Ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing practices, adhering to fair trade principles where applicable.

Inventory Management:

- Develop and implement inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.

- Forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly, ensuring adequate stock availability.

- Monitor inventory levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete items, implementing strategies for clearance.

- Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.

- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

- Product Development & Quality Control:

- Collaborate with designers and artisans to develop new product lines and improve existing products.

- Establish and maintain quality control standards for all products.

- Conduct inspections and ensure products meet quality specifications.

- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

- Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.

- Manage import/export documentation and compliance requirements.

- Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.

- Optimize the supply chain process.

Reporting & Analysis:

- Prepare regular reports on sourcing activities, inventory levels, and sales performance.

- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications:

- MBA or equivalent in Management, OR Graduate in Fashion Technology/Design.

- Minimum 3 years of working experience in sourcing and inventory management, specifically within the handicraft, handloom, and natural products sector.

- Strong understanding of artisanal product markets and supply chains.

- Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.

- Knowledge of fair trade practices and sustainable sourcing is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of local and international markets for handicrafts and handlooms.

- Experience with e-commerce platforms and online sales.

- Ability to communicate in the local languages of the artisans.
