Job Title: Deputy General Manager Operations


Location: Dahej, Gujarat


Reports To: Vice President Operations


Job Summary:


The Deputy General Manager Operations will be responsible for overseeing the overall plant operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes. The role demands strategic leadership, operational excellence, and expertise in specialty chemicals manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Operational Leadership:


- Manage end-to-end plant operations to ensure seamless production and compliance with quality and safety standards.


- Optimize production processes to achieve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.


2. Production Management:


- Oversee production planning and execution to meet business goals.


- Ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining high-quality standards.


3. Process Improvement & Compliance:


- Implement best practices in production and safety as per industry standards and regulatory requirements.


- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.


4. People & Team Management:


- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.


- Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability.


5. Budget & Cost Control:


- Manage operational budgets efficiently.


- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality and safety.


6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management:


- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth supply chain.


- Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with business objectives.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):


- Production Efficiency: Achieve and maintain optimal production output with minimal downtime.


- Quality Standards: Maintain product quality within defined specifications and compliance.


- Cost Control: Optimize production costs and reduce waste.


- Safety Compliance: Ensure zero safety violations and maintain a safe work environment.


- Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvement projects leading to cost savings and efficiency.


- Team Development: Enhance team performance and reduce attrition through effective leadership.


Qualifications & Experience:


- Education: BE/BTech in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.


- Experience: Minimum 15 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in specialty chemical manufacturing.


- Age Limit: Not exceeding 47 years.


Preferred Skills:


- Strong leadership and team management abilities.


- Expertise in chemical plant operations and process optimization.


- Proficiency in regulatory compliance, HSE standards, and quality management.


- Experience in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.


- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
