Job Title: Deputy General Manager / General Manager - Operations
Location: Jamnagar, Gujarat
Role Overview
Our client, a premier logistics and supply-chain provider, manages the receipt, handling, and distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables for a leading privately funded wildlife rescue and conservation facility in Gujarat. They are seeking a seasoned DGM/GM Operations to lead all post-procurement warehouse activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. This is a high-impact role overseeing daily operations handling 20 to 25 tonnes of fresh produce, from inbound receipt to final dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Cold-Chain Operations
- Lead daily operations of a high-volume warehouse dedicated to fresh produce.
- Manage the handling of 2025 tonnes of produce daily, ensuring proper segregation, grading, and quality control.
- Plan and coordinate dispatches to guarantee on-time delivery and optimal freshness.
2. Team & Process Leadership
- Manage and mentor warehouse, QC, and dispatch teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Implement best practices for cold-chain management, inventory rotation, and wastage minimization.
3. Infrastructure & Compliance
- Maintain large-scale cold-storage infrastructure and material-handling equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement partners, transport teams, and end-client stakeholders to align supply schedules and resolve operational issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: BSc in Food Nutrition.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale fresh-produce, FMCG, or cold-chain warehouse operations.
- Proven track record managing 70,00080,000 sq. ft. or larger warehouse facilities.
- Strong knowledge of cold-chain logistics, QC for perishables, and dispatch planning.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), MS Office, and operational analytics.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
