Deputy Finance Controller

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Finance Controller to support strategic and operational financial activities, ensuring robust financial governance and compliance.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in financial reporting, planning, statutory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to drive financial efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Finance Controller in managing overall financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IND-AS/IFRS).

- Oversee day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable/receivable, GL management, reconciliations, and payroll coordination.

- Handle statutory audits, tax audits, internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.

- Support the preparation and review of budget vs actual analysis, cost optimization, and business performance reporting.

- Drive implementation and automation of financial systems, processes, and ERP tools for efficiency and accuracy.

- Work closely with internal departments (HR, Legal, Operations) to align on financial planning and risk controls.

- Supervise, mentor, and develop a small team of finance professionals.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial controllership, corporate finance, or accounting roles.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation laws.

- Proficient in Tally, SAP, Oracle, or any major ERP and advanced MS Excel skills.

- Experience with audit coordination, compliance frameworks, and MIS reporting.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

- Experience in handling multi-entity financials or international operations is a plus.

- Prior experience in startup, mid-sized enterprise, or fast-paced growth environment is desirable
