We are looking for a results-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Ocean Pricing. The ideal candidate will bring 4-9 years of experience in ocean freight pricing, sales support, and business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. This role is crucial in shaping competitive pricing strategies, optimizing profitability, and supporting the commercial team with timely and accurate rate offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement competitive ocean freight pricing strategies that align with company revenue and margin goals.

- Stay updated on global trade dynamics, market rates, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical developments affecting ocean freight costs.

- Monitor buy/sell rates and ensure pricing remains competitive across key trade lanes, considering profitability and customer expectations.

- Utilize in-depth knowledge of major trade lanes, carrier offerings, shipping routes, and transportation networks to optimize pricing decisions.

- Conduct regular benchmarking of competitor pricing strategies to identify market trends, risks, and growth opportunities.

- Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to prepare quotes, spot rates, and contract pricing for customers in a timely manner.

- Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, and internal operations teams to gather inputs and maintain updated pricing databases.

- Generate pricing performance reports, track win/loss ratios, and provide insights to senior leadership for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.

- 4-9 years of relevant experience in ocean freight pricing within a freight forwarding or logistics organization.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of global freight forwarding operations and pricing mechanisms

- Proficiency in MS Excel, rate management tools, and CRM systems

- Excellent analytical and financial acumen

- Effective communication and negotiation skills

- Proven ability to manage multiple pricing requests and work under tight deadlines

- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
