Job Title: Contract Manager

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 5 - 8+ Years

Education: B.E / B.Tech + NICMAR / M.Tech

Job Summary:

The Contract Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end contract management process, with a focus on claims management, repair approvals, and customer communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Claims Management:

- Identify and prepare claims arising from deviations in contract terms and conditions, including but not limited to variations, delays, damages, idling, and escalation.

- Thoroughly document and substantiate claims with accurate and detailed records.

- Develop claim strategies and effectively present claims to customers.

- Negotiate claim settlements with customers to achieve favorable outcomes.

- Prepare and secure contract amendments to incorporate agreed claims.

- Work closely with the legal team, when necessary, to address complex claim issues.

- Maintain a claims log and provide regular updates on the status of claims.

Repair Approval:

- Analyze and evaluate requests for repair work, ensuring alignment with contract terms and conditions.

- Review and approve budgets for repair works, considering cost-effectiveness and project constraints.

- Monitor expenses related to repair works, tracking them against approved budgets.

- Ensure that all repair work is carried out in accordance with quality standards and safety regulations.

- Liaise with site teams to understand the full scope of repair work.

Customer Communication:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding contractual matters.

- Proactively communicate with customers about potential contractual deviations, issues, and progress.

- Prepare and deliver clear and concise contractual letters and other written communication.

- Coordinate with the site team to gather necessary information and documentation for contractual correspondence.

- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.

- Facilitate and lead meetings with clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).

- Master's degree or specialized diploma in Construction Management (NICMAR / M.Tech or equivalent).

- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.

- In-depth knowledge of contract terms and conditions, including standard industry contracts.

- Proven experience in claims preparation, negotiation, and resolution.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, contract management software).

- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
