Consultant/Analyst - Category Manager - Retail Strategy & Consulting Practice - IIM/ISB/XLRI/SPJIMR/MDI

About the Role:

We are looking for dynamic professionals to join our Retail Strategy and Consulting practice. This role is ideal for individuals with strong analytical and retail domain expertise, who are passionate about driving strategic transformation across leading global retailers. The Consultant/Analyst will be part of high-impact engagements, working directly with client teams to deliver insights and scalable solutions across key retail functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver strategic and operational consulting services to clients in grocery, fashion, and general merchandise retail segments.

- Lead or support projects across merchandising, supply chain, store operations, demand forecasting, replenishment, and space planning.

- Conduct data-driven analysis of business processes and financial performance to derive actionable insights.

- Collaborate with cross-functional client and internal teams to co-create transformation roadmaps and operating models.

- Drive change management initiatives and stakeholder engagement to ensure adoption and sustained impact.

- Contribute to business development through proposal creation, thought leadership, and knowledge capital development.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong understanding of key retail functions:

- Merchandise Planning

- Supply Chain Planning

- Demand Planning

- Replenishment

- Store Operations

- Space Planning

Good-to-Have Skills:

- Programming and analytics: R / Python / SAS

- Visualization tools: Tableau / Power BI

- Data management tools: Alteryx / SQL / MS Access

Experience Required:

- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Consulting, Analytics, or the Retail industry

- Hands-on experience in at least one retail data analytics project

- Functional exposure to minimum two retail domains such as merchandising, forecasting, supply chain, space planning, etc.

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree from a reputed institution (Engineering preferred)

- MBA from a Tier 1 B-school (IIM / ISB / XLRI / SPJIMR / MDI or equivalent)
