About the Project:

We are building a platform to simplify investments for retail investors in India, focusing on direct and mutual fund investing. Starting with equity fundamentals, our platform will empower users to think critically about investments and evaluate opportunities e ectively.

To provide context; the platform aims to provide the following features available today at platform like Trendlyne.com (for stock analysis and screening), AlphaSpread.com (valuations and financial modelling), and Scripbox.com (for mutual fund recommendations and portfolio management), we aim to create a comprehensive, user-friendly resource.

Our target users include:

- Novices: Building basic understanding and mastering essential dos and don'ts.

- Experienced Investors and Enthusiasts: Accessing complex topics in simplified formats to turn knowledge into actionable strategies.

- Mutual Fund Distributors: A dedicated space for learning, discovery, institution-grade data analytics, and community building to enhance professional growth.

As a bootstrapped startup in its early stages, we're driven by a vision to democratize high-quality investment education and tools, making them accessible to all. Our founding team brings expertise in product development and content creation, and we're seeking a co-founder to complement this with mutual funds domain knowledge and distribution prowess.

Role Overview:

As Co-Founder and Mutual Funds & Distribution Lead, you will be a key partner in shaping the company's direction. You'll leverage your deep understanding of the mutual funds ecosystem to drive user acquisition, build strategic partnerships, and operationalize our go-to-market strategy. This role blends sales acumen with fundamental investment expertise, focusing on distribution, relationship-building, and awareness creation. You'll co-own the business, with equity stake commensurate with your contributions, and collaborate closely on product roadmap, content strategy, and growth initiatives.

This is an equity-based position ideal for someone passionate about financial inclusion, with the entrepreneurial drive to "run the show" in sales, partnerships, and operations while contributing to our mission of simplifying investments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Distribution and Sales Leadership: Develop and execute strategies to distribute our platform, including user acquisition through digital marketing, SEO, content partnerships, and direct outreach. Act as the primary salesperson, pitching to potential users, mutual fund distributors, and advisors to build a loyal user base.

- Building Third-Party Relationships: Forge alliances with mutual fund houses, financial institutions, regulatory bodies (e.g., AMFI, SEBI), influencers, and industry networks.

- Awareness and Community Building: Utilize in-house knowledge (e.g., content and analytics) to create educational campaigns, webinars, newsletters, and social media initiatives that raise awareness about retail investing. Foster a vibrant community for mutual fund distributors and users through forums, events, and user-generated content.

- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations related to distribution, including team building (as we scale), performance tracking, and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with Indian financial regulations (e.g., RIA guidelines, KYC norms).

- Product and Content Input: Collaborate on platform features, providing insights from the mutual funds perspective to enhance tools like fund comparisons, risk assessments, and analytics dashboards. Help translate complex fundamentals into user-friendly content.

- Growth and Metrics: Define KPIs for user growth, retention, and monetization (e.g., freemium model, premium subscriptions). Analyse user feedback and market trends to iterate on our o erings.

- Fundraising Support: Assist in pitching to investors, angels, or accelerators, leveraging your network in the fintech/mutual funds space.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Domain Expertise: 5+ years in the mutual funds industry, with a strong grasp of fundamentals (e.g., NAV calculations, fund types, performance metrics, regulatory frameworks). Experience as a mutual fund distributor, advisor, or in sales roles at AMCs (Asset Management Companies) is highly preferred.

- Sales and Relationship-Building Acumen: Proven track record in B2B/B2C sales, partnership development, and networking. Ability to blend consultative selling with educational outreach to convert users and partners.

- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable in a startup environmentself-starter, adaptable, and willing to wear multiple hats. Passion for financial literacy and retail investor empowerment.

- Technical A inity: Familiarity and basic understanding of product development cycles. No coding required, but ability to collaborate with tech/product teams.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for creating awareness content, pitching ideas, and building communities.

- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields. Certifications like NISM (e.g., Series VA for Mutual Fund Distributors).

- Personal Attributes: High integrity, analytical thinker, team player with a growth mindset. Based in India (preferably Mumbai, Bangalore, or Delhi for industry proximity), with flexibility for remote work.
