About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Fraud Risk Management
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize fraud detection and prevention strategies across all transaction channels (cards, digital banking, remittances, etc.
- Lead real-time fraud monitoring operations and investigations, ensuring timely detection, escalation, and resolution of suspicious activities.
- Develop risk-scoring models to identify high-risk merchants, users, and transactions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Product, Compliance, Legal) to enhance fraud systems, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver periodic fraud analytics dashboards and insights to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Transaction Monitoring & Investigation
- Manage a high-performing investigations team to resolve fraud cases, maintain evidence logs, and support prosecution in collaboration with law enforcement.
- Ensure timely reporting and closure of fraud-related incidents, achieving high resolution and recovery rates.
Merchant Risk & Onboarding
- Ensure adherence to AML/CTF guidelines while streamlining onboarding for operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic oversight on merchant risk categorization, chargeback prevention, and ongoing compliance review.
Regulatory Compliance
- Conduct periodic internal audits, policy reviews, and regulatory reporting including SAR/STR submissions.
- Serve as a liaison with auditors, regulators, and law enforcement agencies as needed.
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and grow cross-functional teams including fraud analysts, investigators, and compliance officers.
- Train internal teams and merchants on emerging fraud patterns, tools, and mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in fraud prevention, risk management, compliance, and investigations within banking or fintech domains.
- Strong knowledge of global and local regulatory frameworks (AML, KYC, FATF, RBI guidelines, etc.
- Expertise in fraud detection tools like Falcon, machine learning models, and transaction monitoring platforms.
- Proven success in reducing fraud-related losses, improving operational risk frameworks, and leading large teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- CAMS, CFCS, or other relevant risk/compliance certifications are a plus.
