This job description emphasizes the dynamic nature of the role, the innovative products the company is developing, and the sales leadership needed to scale the business effectively in India and beyond.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, customer-focused, and results-driven leader who can drive growth in a rapidly evolving industry. He/she will have demonstrated experience in building a sales team and growing revenue from close to scratch. Has experience in product selling to
Operators, Datacenters and Telecom/ISPs with:
- In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure products such as servers, network hardware and structured cabling.
- Demonstrated ability to sell to telecom clients, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators, ISPs, or data center co-location providers.
- Experience working with or selling solutions from major OEMs (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Dell EMC, HPE, Nokia, Huawei, etc.).
- Familiarity with telecom data center standards (e.g., NEBS, TIA-942, Uptime Institute) and the unique requirements of carrier-grade environments.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage with both procurement and technical teams.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and develop long-term client relationships.
- Experience in solution selling, identifying customer pain points, and offering tailored hardware or integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy Development:
- Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue and sales targets, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business goals.
- Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive sales strategies tailored to the optical transceiver market.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to refine sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
2. Market Expansion & Opportunity Identification:
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities for optical transceivers bin diverse industries such as telecommunications, data centers, and high- performance computing.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, challenges, and customer needs, leveraging this information to refine the company's product offerings and sales approach.
- Build a strong network of potential clients, channel partners, and strategic collaborators across key industries.
3. Market & Performance Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to identify potential market segments, emerging technologies, and key industry developments.
- Use data-driven insights to forecast sales performance, assess the effectiveness of current strategies, and adjust plans accordingly.
- Analyze customer feedback and sales reports to drive continuous improvement in sales tactics and product offerings.
4. Sales Planning & Revenue Growth:
- Develop sales forecasts and set targets for the sales team, ensuring the sales pipeline is consistently optimized and that customer acquisition and retention strategies are in place.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, both within existing accounts and through new customer segments, to diversify revenue streams.
- Oversee the creation and execution of sales plans and track progress towards achieving growth objectives.
5. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Lead the company's customer acquisition and retention strategy, driving a seamless, customer first mindset through the buying journey.
-Build and nurture long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty in the highly competitive optical transceiver market.
-Personally manage and support strategic key accounts, ensuring the company's solutions meet their evolving needs.
6. Team Leadership, Development & Retention:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top-performing sales talent, ensuring a high-performing sales culture.
- Create and implement professional development programs to ensure the sales team is equipped with the latest industry knowledge and sales techniques.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven environment that encourages innovation and accountability within the team.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration & Alignment:
- Work closely with the leadership team, including the PLM, CTO, and heads of other departments (Operations, Engineering, Finance), to ensure seamless alignment of sales and marketing with company strategy.
o Collaborate with product development teams to provide market feedback and ensure that product offerings meet the needs of the customer base.
- Align marketing campaigns and product messaging with sales initiatives to enhance brand positioning and drive demand generation.
8. Brand Building & Market Positioning:
- Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive demand generation, and position the company as a market leader in the optical transceiver industry.
- Oversee the development of product marketing materials, digital content, and other promotional assets that communicate the company's value proposition effectively to customers.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, networking with key stakeholders and promoting the company's product offerings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing,
- Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA) is a plus.
