Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operational activities, driving efficiency, scalability, and profitability across all logistics functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will translate strategic vision into operational excellence, ensuring the company meets growth targets while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.
- Oversee all logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, last-mile delivery, and supply chain coordination.
- Ensure adherence to operational KPIs, SLAs, and compliance standards.
Process Optimization & Efficiency:
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, reducing costs without compromising service quality.
- Implement advanced logistics technologies for tracking, fleet management, and inventory optimization.
- Establish best practices in route optimization, warehouse automation, and demand forecasting.
Team & Culture Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams across multiple regions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and customer focus.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments.
Financial & Risk Management:
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas for margin improvement.
- Oversee risk management related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and operational safety.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership to align operations with strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory bodies when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Proven track record in scaling logistics operations and managing multi-site operations.
- Strong understanding of logistics technology platforms, fleet management systems, and automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
