We are currently supporting one of our esteemed clients-a reputed hospital chain with a Pan India presence-in identifying a seasoned professional for the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Job Description:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the 100-bedded hospital, ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining financial sustainability and operational efficiency. The COO will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, and aligning administrative functions with clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee end-to-end hospital operations across all departments - medical, nursing, paramedical, administrative, and support services.
- Ensure 24/7 seamless functioning of critical areas such as Emergency, ICU, OT, and In-patient departments.
- Maintain hospital infrastructure, biomedical equipment, and service contracts.
Strategic & Business Planning:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the hospital's mission and growth plans.
- Monitor performance metrics (clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, cost efficiencies, etc.) and report to the board.
- Collaborate with the CEO/MD on business development, budgeting, and strategic partnerships.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to NABH/NABL standards and oversee periodic audits.
- Implement SOPs, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain statutory and regulatory compliance (PCPNDT, Biomedical Waste, AERB, Fire Safety,
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor departmental budgets, cost centers, and P&L performance.
- Optimize resource utilization and cost controls without compromising patient care.
- Negotiate with vendors and oversee procurement in coordination with finance and materials management.
HR & People Management:
- Lead and mentor departmental heads and functional teams to drive performance and accountability.
- Oversee manpower planning, hiring, training, and staff engagement initiatives.
- Ensure effective grievance redressal and promote a positive workplace culture.
Patient Experience & Engagement:
- Drive patient satisfaction through service excellence, grievance handling, and process streamlining.
- Analyze feedback, complaints, and incident reports to take corrective action.
Technology & Innovation:
- Oversee implementation of HIS/EMR systems, and digital healthcare initiatives.
- Promote the use of analytics for performance tracking and decision-making.
