Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and management for a Hospitality & Real Estate group in Kathmandu, Nepal.
- This role is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with expertise in owner-side asset management, investment expansion, project finance, pre-opening hotel finance, and construction finance.
- The CFO will play a critical role in driving financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Investment Expansion:
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support business growth and investment expansion across hospitality and real estate sectors.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities, joint ventures, and acquisitions to optimize returns.
- Develop financial models and feasibility studies for new projects and acquisitions.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and investors for fundraising, loan structuring, and capital allocation.
Owner-Side Asset & Portfolio Management:
- Manage and optimize the financial performance of owner-side assets, including hotels, resorts, and real estate properties.
- Implement cost control measures, revenue optimization strategies, and capital expenditure planning for existing and new assets.
- Monitor property valuation, asset utilization, and lease/rental revenue performance.
Operational Hotel Finance & Pre-Opening Finance:
- Oversee all financial operations of running hotels, including revenue management, working capital, and cost efficiencies.
- Set up financial structures and policies for pre-opening hotel finance, including budgeting, funding, and operational readiness.
- Work closely with hotel operators, general managers, and owners to ensure profitability and cost control.
Project & Construction Finance:
- Oversee financial planning and execution for real estate and hospitality construction projects.
- Ensure efficient project financing, cost management, and timely fund allocation.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors to manage budgets, mitigate financial risks, and optimize project cash flows.
- Conduct financial due diligence on new construction projects, expansions, and renovations.
Compliance, Risk Management & Corporate Governance:
- Ensure adherence to Nepalese tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage audits, statutory compliance, and internal financial reporting.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals across multiple business verticals.
- Act as the key liaison between owners, investors, board members, financial institutions, and hotel operators.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making at the board and executive levels.
Key Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
- 15+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in hospitality, real estate, and construction finance.
- Proven expertise in investment management, project financing, and asset management.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, and banking sector policies.
- Experience in pre-opening hotel finance, operational finance, and capital project execution.
- Excellent financial modeling, forecasting, and business planning skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing large finance teams and working with owners and board members.
