Core Responsibilities:
- Should be a CA with Pharma companies expereince.
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support executive-level decision-making on investments, new business initiatives, and market expansion.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancement.
Financial Management and Oversight:
- Manage all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and payroll.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of accurate and timely financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
- Ensure all financial transactions, policies, and procedures comply with statutory regulations (e.g., GAAP, SEC guidelines) and internal controls.
- Manage the company's capital structure, cash flow, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
- Develop and maintain a robust internal control framework to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Act as a financial catalyst, educating and influencing other departments on financial best practices.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, auditors, and government bodies.
- Communicate the company's financial performance and strategy to the Board of Directors and the investment community.
- Play a key role in fundraising, mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required. An MBA or a professional certification such as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in a progressively responsible financial leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and risk management.
- Experience in a relevant industry is often preferred.
- Experience with fundraising, M&A, and capital markets is highly valued.
