About Our Client

Our client is an exciting, fast-growing house of brands in the F&B sector based in Bangalore. They currently operate 4 successful restaurant concepts and have ambitious plans to scale to approximately 100 locations across India within the next 5 years. With a current annual revenue of - 10Cr+ and consistent quarter-on-quarter growth of 10%, they are poised for significant expansion.

The Opportunity

The client is seeking a strategic and visionary Chief Business Officer (CBO) who can lead their growth journey from 4 to 100 restaurants. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced business leader to shape the future of a promising F&B organisation in its formative scaling phase.

Role Overview:

As the CBO, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's growth strategy, optimising operations, enhancing profitability, and building systems and teams that can support rapid yet sustainable expansion. You will report directly to the founders and work closely with investors to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement the strategic roadmap for scaling from 4 to 100 restaurants over 5 years

- Lead the business development function including location selection, partnership management, and expansion planning

- Establish scalable systems and processes across operations, finance, and people management

- Drive revenue growth and profitability improvement across existing and new outlets

- Build, lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple functions

- Create and manage P&L statements for individual brands and the overall business

- Oversee the standardisation of food quality, service, and brand experience across all locations

- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets that fit within the house of brands strategy

- Represent the company to external stakeholders including investors, partners and vendors

- Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies that build brand awareness and customer loyalty

- Manage capital allocation and investment decisions to maximise returns

Qualifications & Experience

- 10-15 years of relevant business experience with significant exposure to scaling people intensive businesses

- Previous founder experience is highly valued but not mandatory

- MBA degree from a reputable institution

- Proven track record in scaling multi-unit retail or restaurant businesses

- Experience in P&L management with demonstrated ability to drive profitability

- Strong understanding of unit economics in the F&B sector

- Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or retail industries is preferred

- History of successful team building and talent development

- Experience working with investors and boards

Skills & Competencies:

- A genuine passion for food and the F&B industry, must be a food lover at heart

- Strategic thinking balanced with hands-on operational expertise

- Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities

- Excellent leadership skills with ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams

- Proven ability to make data-driven decisions while maintaining focus on customer experience

- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills

- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing environment

- Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution

- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
