Category Manager: Perfumes / Fragrance
Location: Gurgaon

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to lead and grow our Perfume & Fragrance vertical. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the beauty and personal care market, with a specific focus on fragrance trends, consumer behavior, product lifecycle, and brand positioning.
You will be responsible for driving end-to-end category strategy, portfolio management, product development coordination, pricing, promotions, and ensuring consistent business growth through innovation and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy & Planning
- Define and execute short-term and long-term strategies for the fragrance category.
- Develop annual category plans including sales targets, brand mix, and product roadmap.
- Identify gaps in the current portfolio and consumer needs to introduce new products/SKUs.
2. Product Development & Sourcing
- Work closely with product development, R&D, and design teams to conceptualize and launch new fragrances.
- Collaborate with vendors, fragrance houses, and packaging partners to deliver innovative products on time.
3. P&L Ownership
- Own the P&L for the fragrance category - pricing, costing, margins, promotions, and inventory.
- Drive profitability by optimizing pricing strategy, managing supply-demand and stock health.
4. Merchandising & GTM (Go-to-Market) Execution
- Plan and implement product launches across channels - Online (D2C, marketplaces) and Offline (retail, distribution).
- Work with marketing and sales teams to develop impactful go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure availability and visibility across platforms.
5. Market & Consumer Insights
- Track global and domestic trends in perfumes/fragrances.
- Monitor competitor activity and consumer feedback to refine the offering.
- Conduct pricing and assortment benchmarking.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Liaise with internal teams including marketing, design, operations, supply chain, and finance.
- Ensure timely and smooth execution of new product launches and campaigns.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Category/Product Management in Perfumes, Beauty, FMCG, or Lifestyle segment.
- Deep understanding of the fragrance industry, ingredients, and formulation processes is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage a category P&L and drive profitable growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Passion for consumer products and understanding of consumer behavior and preferences.
