Role & responsibilities:

Job Purpose: Lead the strategic and operational success of assigned category. The role involves crafting and executing business models, analysing markets, and understanding customer behaviour to seize opportunities. It involves vendor relations, optimize operations, and drive sales strategies for sustainable growth. Additionally, you'll cultivate a high- performance team, setting goals and fostering a culture of excellence across functions.

Key Responsibilities :

Business Strategy:

- Develop a comprehensive business model for the assigned category, identifying and capturing key market opportunities, while ensuring optimal P&L performance.

- Develop a deep understanding of customer behaviour and preferences to inform strategic decision-making.

- Map the entire vendor & B2B value chain, identifying opportunities for optimization and profitability.

- Collaborate with leadership across functions to translate strategies into actionable plans and drive necessary changes.

Build Supply & Operations:

- Lead a vendor-relations team to build strategic partnerships and secure favourable terms for customers.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management strategy and governance framework. Understand the value chain and contact vendors to improve quality, reliability, and margins.

- Leverage technology to streamline operations and expand product selections. Partner with Supply Chain teams to guarantee product availability and meet customer demands.

Merchandising & Sales Strategy:

- Identify and implement strategies to drive customer acquisition, transaction growth, and category profitability.

- Develop and manage pricing strategies based on market dynamics, customer insights, margins, and competitive intelligence.

People Development:

- Build, motivate, and mentor a high-performing team to achieve success across all functions.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Post Graduate with 10+ years experience in managing sourcing for Building or Construction raw materials across categories like Steel, Cement, Non-Ferrous, Chemicals, Polymers etc
