Our client is a fast-scaling fashion and lifestyle brand backed by one of India's largest consumer groups. The company is looking to hire a category head to drive revenue, product lifecycle performance, and platform growth across its high-volume apparel category. This role combines strategic thinking with operational depth, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-ownership environment.

Role Overview:

As the category head, you will be responsible for scaling a large apparel fashion product portfolio with a focus on revenue generation, inventory health, pricing strategy, and channel performance. You'll lead a critical category with deep involvement across supply planning, online visibility, pricing, and margin optimization, while working closely with design, sourcing, marketing, and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage top-line and bottom-line metrics for a high-contribution category

2. Oversee product lifecycle from launch planning to phase-out decisions

3. Use data to inform supply decisions, optimize working capital, and reduce obsolescence

4. Work cross-functionally to ensure product visibility, price positioning, and campaign alignment across platforms

5. Develop and implement monthly and quarterly growth plans in line with broader business goals

6. Analyze performance by style to guide future assortment and design choices

7. Stay on top of emerging trends and consumer preferences in digital fashion to influence merchandise planning

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. 8-12 years of experience in category management, business growth, or merchandising in consumer or digital-first brands

2. Strong command over analytics, forecasting, and inventory planning

3. Experience in pricing strategy and working capital management is a plus

4. Exposure to fashion, beauty, or high-SKU consumer categories is preferred

5. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, data-led environment

6. Strong ownership mindset with a balance of commercial and creative fluency

7. MBA from Tier 1 B school mandatory.
