The Role:

This pivotal leadership role is to lead the category strategy and execution for Personal Care, Beauty Care, Cosmetics, and Home Care across national brands and private labels. The role is responsible for driving growth, margin improvement, private label development, and building a future-ready category aligned with customer trends in a retail environment.

Location: Delhi NCR

Reports to: VP - Business Head

Industry: Retail

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Category Leadership: Own the P&L and develop a 3-5-year category roadmap aligned with market trends and customer needs.

- Private Label Growth & Innovation: Drive private label strategy, product development, and portfolio expansion in partnership with cross-functional teams.

- Brand Partnership & Assortment Strategy: Manage brand relationships, negotiate terms, and curate an optimal assortment of SKUs and exclusives.

- Commercial Planning & Execution: Lead sales forecasting, margin planning, promotions, and inventory optimization for the category.

- Marketing & Customer Engagement: Develop visibility plans, campaigns, and merchandising strategies to enhance customer experience.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with operations, supply chain, legal, finance, and tech teams for smooth category execution.

- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing category team through performance management and succession planning.

Qualifications:

- MBA/PGDM from a reputed institute (Retail, Marketing, Strategy specialization preferred)

- 15-20 years of experience in category management (Beauty, Personal & Home Care essential)

- Must have exposure to private label development, vendor negotiations, and team leadership in a retail/hypermarket environment

- Demonstrates strong strategic, commercial, and analytical acumen with deep retail & FMCG customer insights, negotiation expertise, and ROI focus.

- Exhibits high ownership, agility in fast-paced settings, and excels in team development and cross-functional leadership.
