About the Role
This is not just another role its a chance to own, build, and dominate the jewelry category at internet scale. The opportunity involves redefining how India buys, experiences, and falls in love with jewelry in a market valued at $94B+ and rapidly shifting online.
The leadership role requires deep experience in fashion/jewelry category management, a strong grasp of consumer trends, and the ability to forge strategic partnerships while scaling the business sustainably. You will own the P&L of the jewelry category and work closely with marketing, growth, and product teams to deliver results.
Core Responsibilities
- Category Leadership: Full P&L ownership of the jewelry category, defining and executing growth strategies across revenue, margins, and assortment.
- Brand Partnerships: Drive onboarding and growth of leading national and international jewelry brands; manage long-term relationships to ensure their success.
- Selection & Assortment Expansion: Identify consumer needs, expand assortments across sub-categories, negotiate favorable terms, and scale vendor partnerships.
- Pricing & Demand Generation: Develop competitive pricing strategies, promotions, and demand levers in collaboration with marketing and growth teams.
- Strategic Planning: Design and execute both short- and long-term category roadmaps; track and report topline, bottom-line, and key performance metrics.
- Innovation & Automation: Implement scalable, automated processes and drive continuous improvement for rapid growth.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and grow a high-performing category and brand success team.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 9-12+ years of proven experience in category management, merchandising, or brand partnerships, with direct expertise in fashion/jewelry.
- Track record of scaling categories and owning P&L in leading platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio, etc.).
- Strong understanding of jewelry market dynamics, fashion trends, and consumer behavior.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to balance data-driven insights and creative problem-solving.
- MBA preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates with deep industry expertise.
- Willingness to travel for vendor and partner engagement.
