Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CAPEX Procurement Manager to manage the procurement process for capital expenditures (CAPEX) within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing high-value procurement activities for capital projects, working with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with company policies, budgets, and timelines. As the CAPEX Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers and contracts for all capital expenditure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust CAPEX procurement strategy that aligns with organizational goals and business needs.
- Collaborate with project teams and senior management to understand CAPEX project requirements and define procurement objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for capital expenditure projects, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
- Lead supplier negotiations, manage contracts, and ensure the procurement process is transparent, competitive, and cost-effective.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure CAPEX procurement activities are aligned with budget constraints and help identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project timelines.
- Monitor procurement costs, track expenses, and identify potential cost overruns, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and invoices in accordance with established budgets and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all internal procurement policies, company standards, and external regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including those related to suppliers, contracts, and market conditions.
- Ensure that all CAPEX procurement activities adhere to corporate governance standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, finance, operations, and legal teams, to ensure alignment on CAPEX project specifications and timelines.
- Provide regular updates to senior management regarding procurement progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Lead the negotiation of contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and terms and conditions for CAPEX-related purchases.
- Ensure that contracts meet the organizations standards and provide value for money, minimizing risks.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends to identify new suppliers, materials, technologies, and best practices that could benefit the organization.
- Stay updated on developments within the procurement and capital expenditure sectors to drive continuous improvement in sourcing strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications is preferred.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on capital expenditure (CAPEX), ideally in [Industry Sector, e.g., Manufacturing, Construction, Energy].
- Proven track record of managing the procurement of Medium to high-value capital projects.
- Experience in contract negotiation and supplier management for medium to large-scale CAPEX projects.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract law.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools (e.g., Tally, SAP, or other relevant platforms).
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
Soft Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and achieve favourable terms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- Familiarity with the latest trends in supply chain management, risk management, and sustainability practices in procurement.
Working Conditions:
