Role Overview
The Business Head - Online Business will be responsible for scaling the company's digital learning footprint by building distinctive programs in collaboration with academic leaders, ensuring best-in-class commercialization, and driving overall growth. This strategic role combines academic partnership development, program management, and business expansion through robust sales, marketing, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Program Development:
- Drive the design, development, and launch of high-quality online programs by engaging with leading academicians, faculty members, and knowledge partners.
- Forge strategic alliances with universities, colleges, and industry organizations to strengthen program content and credibility.
Business Strategy & P&L Management:
- Lead the vision, annual roadmap, and multi-year growth strategy for the online education portfolio.
- Own the P&L for the vertical, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Commercialization & Go-to-Market:
- Define and execute commercialization plans for all new and existing online programs.
- Oversee sales and marketing efforts to ensure strong learner acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Build and nurture partnerships with external marketing agencies and channel partners to extend reach.
Operational Leadership:
- Set up scalable processes for program delivery, learner engagement, and operations.
- Implement continuous improvement practices to deliver best-in-class learner and partner experiences.
Team Building & People Leadership:
- Hire, mentor and lead high-performing cross-functional teams spanning sales, program management, marketing, and learner success.
- Cultivate a results-driven, collaborative, and learner-focused team culture.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- 15-18 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in senior management/leadership roles in EdTech, higher education, or digitally focused consumer businesses.
- Demonstrated success in program building, managing business P&L, and driving growth in a scaling - organization.
