The Finance Controller is a senior-level financial professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, and compliance, with a primary focus on analyzing sales data, inventory management, and store performance to drive strategic decision-making within the retail environment. He/ she would lead a team of accountants and work closely with other departments like production, marketing and sales and operations to ensure financial stability and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial planning: Develop financial strategies, including risk management and opportunity forecasting

- Financial reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow statements

- Compliance: Ensure compliance with government regulations and tax laws

- Efficiency: Identify ways to improve financial efficiency, such as reducing costs and increasing profits

- Stakeholder management: Manage relationships with investors, partners, and other external stakeholders

- Leadership: Work with executives to make decisions, answer technical questions, and delegate duties

- Record-keeping: Maintain and analyze financial records

- Debt management: Manage debt and collections

- Payroll: Oversee the payroll process and ensure adherence to compensation structure and tax compliance etc.
