
Business Analyst - Finance & Insurance domain:
Skills: Business analysis, Product owner/manager, BRD & FRD, requirement gathering, stakeholder management, UAT, User cases, Data visualization tools like power bi, taleau, looker, MicroStrategy(any tools), SQL.
Domain - Financial Services, Insurance - Actuarial insurance, Life insurance, Annuities, claims, payments.
Experience range: 7 - 15 years
Location: Hyderabad
Mandatory Skills: Business Analyst, BRD & FRD, Stakeholder management, UAT, Actuarial Insurance like Life and Annuities and Finance domain.
The Impact:
- Act as the primary interface between financial systems that support Actuarial, FP&A, Reinsurance, Treasury, Controllership, Capital Planning and Tax functions and Data Engineering & Analytics groups.
- Elicit, document, and translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows).
- Drive the design and implementation of Finance data solutions, including data pipelines, reporting dashboards, and analytics platforms.
- Support system configuration, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Finance data
platforms.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and BI Developers to ensure alignment with business objectives and data strategy.
- Lead or contribute to UAT planning and execution, including test case development, defect tracking, and resolution.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation such as business process flows, data dictionaries, and traceability matrices.
Experience & Technical Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as a BSA or similar role supporting finance or data analytics projects.
- Proven track record of Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
- Good understanding of corporate finance processes (e.g., FP&A, treasury, controllership, capital planning).
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts: ETL/ELT, data lakes, data warehouses.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau) and SQL querying.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional delivery teams.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and motivate teams without direct authority.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to financial modeling or analytics tools like Anaplan or Hyperion.
- Background in data governance, lineage, and metadata management
