
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Management (SCM) professional to lead end-to-end procurement operations for Solar EPC projects. The role encompasses strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract finalization, and logistics coordinationensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven procurement. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in solar technology, EPC contracts, and supplier markets, with proven success in managing complex procurement cycles under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and other Balance of System (BOS) components.
- Align procurement plans with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
Vendor Management & Contracting:
- Lead tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contract finalization with vendors and service providers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations, audits, and capability assessments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to forecast requirements and resolve supply-related issues.
- Facilitate smooth coordination between procurement, logistics, and site execution teams.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, technical specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
- Identify alternate sourcing options and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks.
Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement:
- Track market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging solar technologies.
- Recommend cost optimization, process improvement, and supplier development initiatives.
Documentation & Logistics:
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and reports for audit and tracking purposes.
- Oversee logistics coordination, customs clearance, and timely delivery to project sites.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Experience:
- 7 - 10 years of progressive SCM experience, with at least 5 years in the Solar EPC sector.
- Proven track record in high-value procurement, vendor management, and EPC contract negotiations.
Technical & Professional Skills:
- Strong understanding of solar technology, EPC contracts, and domestic/international supplier markets.
- Excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
