Assistant Manager Engagement Lead (Procurement & Supply Chain Intelligence)
Location: Gurgaon / Mumbai | Onsite/Hybrid
Experience Required: 4-7 years
We are hiring an Engagement Lead for our Procurement & Supply Chain Intelligence practice at a global research and analytics firm.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement intelligence, and category management who are looking to lead client-facing engagements and deliver high-value, data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement & Delivery
- Act as a strategic partner to category managers and procurement leadership, advising on sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and market risks.
- Translate research findings into clear recommendations, category strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
Procurement & Supply Chain Intelligence
- Conduct Market Intelligence (MI) and BCCS studies (Benchmarking, Cost Modeling, Category Strategy) across direct and indirect spend categories.
- Build cost models and perform price forecasting by analyzing raw material indices, inflation
trends, supply-demand fluctuations, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Execute should-cost analysis, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models, and negotiation benchmarks.
- Assess supply market risks, supplier financial health, geopolitical impacts, and ESG
considerations impacting sourcing decisions.
Research & Analytics Execution
market reports.
- Conduct primary research through expert interviews, supplier discussions, and industry
surveys to validate insights.
- Perform quantitative analysis (price trend modeling, regression analysis, cost breakdowns) and qualitative assessments (supplier capabilities, innovation potential, sourcing risks).
- Synthesize insights into dashboards, procurement trackers, and executive-ready presentations
using advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure high-quality standards through peer reviews, process governance, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, risk, and compliance) to ensure holistic category strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in Procurement & Supply Chain, Market Intelligence, or Strategic
Sourcing.
- Strong exposure to end-to-end sourcing assignments across multiple categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, Logistics, Raw Materials, Professional Services).
- Expertise in MI & BCCS studies: Benchmarking, Cost Modeling, Category Strategy, Supplier
Market Assessments.
- Hands-on experience with cost modeling, price forecasting, inflation impact analysis, and risk
assessments.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, financial modeling) and MS PowerPoint (executive storytelling, data visualization).
- Strong primary & secondary research capabilities, with experience in leveraging procurement databases (e.g., GEP, Beroe, Gartner, Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to present insights to senior procurement leaders.
Good to Have
- Experience in consulting or research & advisory firms.
- Exposure to digital procurement tools (Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, Ivalua, Zycus).
- Knowledge of statistical techniques for price forecasting (regression, time-series modeling).
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, ESG risks, and supplier diversity programs
