AGM - Finance & Accounts - CA


Job Purpose:

- The Accounts and Finance AGM is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.


- The role requires substantial experience in managing audits, utilizing SAP for financial processes, and strategic financial management, particularly during the Annual General Meeting (AGM).


- This role also demands leadership in finance operations, ensuring the company's financial health, compliance, and efficient use of financial resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Presentation:

- Lead the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements for the AGM, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information, providing insight into company performance for key stakeholders.

- Liaise with external auditors during the audit process and ensure the delivery of all required documentation.

Audit Management:

- Oversee both internal and external audits, ensuring financial transparency and compliance with statutory requirements.

- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, providing all necessary financial documentation and responding to audit queries.

- Review and ensure that internal controls are effective and audit recommendations are implemented.

- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strong governance and compliance across all processes.

SAP Financial Management:

- Lead and oversee the use of SAP ERP for all financial transactions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

- Ensure that financial data and processes in SAP align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any SAP-related financial issues, ensuring smooth functionality of financial operations.

- Work closely with IT and SAP teams to drive system improvements and provide training to finance teams on SAP processes.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Planning:

- Lead the annual budgeting process, coordinating with department heads to ensure comprehensive and accurate budget preparation.

- Provide insightful analysis and variance reporting, enabling management to make informed financial decisions.

- Implement financial forecasting models to predict cash flow, revenue, and expenditure trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.

Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure that the company complies with all financial regulations, accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), and tax laws.

- Coordinate tax planning and work with tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns and manage any tax-related issues.

- Stay informed on changes in tax legislation, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure continued compliance.

Strategic Financial Leadership:

- Provide senior management with financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support business strategy and growth.

- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and revenue enhancement.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate financial performance and propose long-term financial strategies for the company.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

- Ensure proper training and development of team members on financial systems (especially SAP), internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

- Establish clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide guidance for continuous improvement.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.

Experience:

- 9 -15 years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role.

- Extensive experience managing audits (both internal and external).

- Proven expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Solid experience in SAP (or similar ERP) for financial processes and reporting.

Technical Skills:

- Expertise in SAP ERP for managing financial data, reporting, and forecasting.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).

Key Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with auditors, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position

- Occasional travel may be required for audit-related activities.
