Assistant General Manager - Acquisition/Investment - Real Estate
- Real Estate Acquisitions, sometimes referred to as the Investment Officer, is a senior role responsible for leading the organization's property acquisition strategies to expand and optimize its real estate portfolio.
- This role is crucial in identifying investment opportunities, negotiating deals, and ensuring alignment with the company's financial and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive acquisition strategies that align with the organization's investment goals and risk tolerance,
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, investment opportunities, and potential risks in the real estate sector.
- Deal Sourcing: Identify and source potential property acquisitions, including multifamily and commercial real estate opportunities, to enhance the company's portfolio.
- Financial Evaluation: Oversee financial modeling and due diligence processes to assess the viability and profitability of potential acquisitions.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations with sellers, brokers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable terms and conditions for property acquisitions.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the acquisitions team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of acquisition strategies.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborate with asset management teams to monitor and optimize the performance of acquired properties.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent communication with investors, partners, and senior management regarding acquisition activities and portfolio performance.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in real estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications, such as Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) or Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), or CFA, are advantageous.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8-14 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, property development, or portfolio management, with a proven track record in managing multifamily and/or commercial real estate businesses.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, excellent negotiation and communication skills, leadership experience.
