Role Overview:

The General Manager - Construction will oversee all aspects of construction project management, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. The role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, contractor management, and compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the execution of multiple construction projects from inception to completion.

- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.

- Ensure adherence to construction quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

- Monitor site progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective measures.

- Conduct regular site inspections and enforce compliance with building codes and safety guidelines.

- Manage and optimize project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.

- Lead and mentor construction teams, ensuring productivity and efficiency.

- Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and financial assessments to senior management.

- Identify and mitigate project risks to prevent delays and cost overruns.

- Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers and government authorities.

Required Skillset:

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and technologies.

- Expertise in project planning, budgeting, and cost control.

- Proficiency in contract negotiation and vendor management.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

- Familiarity with local building regulations and environmental standards.

- Hands-on experience with construction management software and tools.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

- 10-20 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in residential and commercial real estate.

- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects successfully.
