Responsibilities:
- Develop action plan and drive HSE&S improvement performance and Common Platform milestones for the commercial and ISC functions in India.
- Develop strategies and policies to improve the safety culture of commercial and ISC organization for commercial function in India.
- To Lead investigation of incidents, develop preventive and corrective actions and support line managers in the implementation.
- Ensure HSE&S metrics are reported as required by the corporate and regional systems in line with required deadlines.
- Develop and train employees the line managers in the commercial and ISC functions for improving their HSE capability
- Liaise and effectively manage the deployment of HSE improvement plans with HRBP/Business Manager.
- Has a significant contribution to the non-ISC HSE&S agenda 5 years ahead and beyond in order to achieve leading performance.
- Evaluates organizational design and initiates improvements in the non-ISC HSE&S operating model to optimize the function.
- Review new legislations, update the HSE register, assess the gaps in the organization and develop and implement actions to comply to revised and new regulations
- Analyzes incident trends and identifies areas for continuous improvement and defines actions accordingly. Participates in HSE&S audits and third-party selection processes.
Key Activities (generic profile for Commercial and ISC HSE&S Manager):
- Develop action plan and drive HSE&S improvement performance and Common Platform milestones for the commercial and ISC functions in India.
- Advise and support function owners to complete their HSE&S Improvement actions and Common Platform programs and review the progress of implementation monthly.
- Lead the functional departments in risk assessment and action development to manage risks
- Lead investigation of incidents, develop preventive and corrective actions and advise the line managers in the implementation.
- Coordinating the input from other functions for the reporting process. Analysis the gaps, identify corrective actions and advise line managers in the correct implementation of the actions.
- Assess and monitor the implementing of preventive and corrective actions till completion.
- Act as the HSE advisor and to lead the incident investigation team, assign actions to owners and follow up till the proposed corrective actions are completed with the right quality.
- Analyze BBS/near miss reports on a monthly basis and identifying key problem areas and their causes, agreeing with relevant teams for corrective actions to be taken.
- Sharing and implementing learning from relevant incidents elsewhere. Carry out audit to ensure the quality of incident sharing and follow up.
- Training all internal suppliers of underlying data have full knowledge of the KPI definitions and know where relevant information sources can be found.
- Analyze all information sources of report data to ensure they are clearly documented
- Provide HSE&S support for commercial functions
- Support in delivering Road Safety and induction training for new employees
- Participate in Product Stewardship implementation for marketing aspects.
- Support HR in implementing Management of Organization Change.
- Maintenance of a thorough knowledge of all HSE&S systems and requirements
- Analyze and communicate new related regulations/ HSE alerts to all relevant via e-mail, HSE&S committee meeting and management review meeting to ensure all requirements are complied.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Science and HSE&S certificate from a reputed institution or related discipline is required with a minimum of five years of experience in a professional role.
- Adequate knowledge of ISO-9000.14001 and OSHAS 18001
- A strong background in the principles of HSE&S management in line with legal requirements and recommended by industry practice is strongly preferred
