Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting operations and support the Finance Controller in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and business decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and managerial expertise, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution industries, with the ability to oversee accounting processes, manage a team, and drive financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Prepare, analyze, and present management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor accounts payable, receivable, banking operations, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Manage inventory accounting and costing, ensuring accuracy in stock valuation and reporting.
- Support the Finance Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and statutory audits.
- Implement, monitor, and strengthen internal controls and financial policies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial activities with business objectives.
Requirement:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 23 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) will be an advantage.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution industries is an added advantage
