- About the Position: The General Manager, India is responsible for leading the affiliate to achieve corporate goals through developing business strategy, key imperatives and driving overall sales performance.

- This role involves the development of new business opportunities, managing cross-functional teams, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring growth & profitability for the affiliate.

- This position is based in Mumbai, India and will be part of Diabetes Care's Asia Pacific Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic leadership, develop and implement business strategies aligned with company goals.

- Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.

- Direct all aspects of the day-to-day operations in the affiliate to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance with the corporate objectives, strategy and plans.

- Direct the preparation of operating budgets, forecasts and financial reports.

- Drive revenue growth, cost-efficiency and proposals for investments in capital expenditure or other assets/resources.

- Analyze and approve operational investments that best meet the organisation's business needs.

- Lead a team of Commercial Leaders in the affiliate with operational responsibilities to ensure that the organisation achieves business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.

- Provide leadership to cross-functional partners in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, HR and Finance to best support the region.

- Set KPIs, monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to build a high performing organization.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.

- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory and government bodies as well as patient advocacy groups.

- Anticipate capability needs and prepare talent pipelines for both short and long-term business needs, coach and develop team members.

- Foster a positive and inclusive working environment through employee engagement initiatives.

Qualification & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or other similar degrees.

- MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience including sales & marketing management, commercial execution and strategic planning, within the healthcare industry.

- At least 10 years experience in leadership positions, preferably with multinational companies in India.

- Proven track record in both direct/distributor channel management.

- Deep understanding of the healthcare systems, regulatory environments and market dynamics in India is beneficial.

- Business-focused and committed to delivering clear business outcomes, customer-focused acumen, and growth mindset.

- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to gain support and alignment of cross-functional resources and ability to develop sustainable relationships.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive under pressure while maintaining strong attention to details.

- Excellent communication and written skills in English, ability to communicate effectively with regional and global stakeholders.

- A magnetic people leader with high integrity and strong dedication to talent development and employee engagement,.

- Travel up to 30% will be required.
