Job Description - Head Finance (MIL/AIL)

Overall Mission

Provide strategic and operational finance leadership to the business and commercial teams, enabling achievement of complete commercial and P&L deliverables. The role will drive profitable growth through financial insights, decision support, governance, and commercial partnership (pricing, GMI initiatives, delivery of outcomes, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Performance & P&L Management

- Lead the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly business unit-wise P&L statements.

- Partner with business heads to monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.

- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve profitability and cost efficiency.

- Support strategic planning, scenario modeling, and decision-making for business initiatives.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

- Drive the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including Latest Business Estimates and long-range plans.

- Ensure alignment of financial plans with overall business objectives.

- Monitor budget adherence, analyze variances, and provide corrective action recommendations.

3. Business Partnering

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.) to support financial decision-making.

- Provide financial leadership in business reviews, investment proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.

- Educate and influence non-finance stakeholders on financial implications of decisions.

- Partner on monthly sales demand forecasting and S&OP data reviews.

- Drive financial analysis and support for new product launches, including pricing strategies and promotional program profitability.

4. Spend Control & Financial Governance

- Review and approve Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and business spends within budgetary limits.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and pharma-specific regulations.

- Act as the financial gatekeeper for discretionary and capital expenditures.

5. Reporting & Analysis

- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, dashboards, and performance insights.

- Develop and track KPIs to measure business performance and guide decision-making.

- Support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to reporting standards.

6. Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with Abbott Risk and compliance requirements.

- Maintain highest standards of financial governance and risk management.

7. Projects & Ad-Hoc Initiatives

- Lead or support key financial and cross-functional projects as required.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and commercial processes.

Qualifications & Experience

- CA / MBA (Finance) with 12-15 years of progressive finance leadership experience.

- Strong expertise in P&L management, business partnering, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Experience in pharma/consumer healthcare/FMCG industry preferred.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
