Main Purpose of the Role

The Area Business Manager (ABM) will be responsible for driving business growth in the assigned territory by executing sales strategies, leading a team of Territory Business Managers (TBMs), engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring the implementation of organizational goals and policies.

Key Responsibilities

Business Planning & Execution

- Analyze market trends and prepare actionable business plans based on market research and data analytics.

- Drive the execution of strategic plans and ensure adherence to organizational policies.

Team Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Territory Business Managers.

- Drive a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Conduct regular field visits and provide on-ground support to the team.

Stakeholder Management

- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external stakeholders such as doctors, stockists, retailers, chemists, and institutional pharmacies.

- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including TBMs and cross-functional teams.

Monitoring & Reporting

- Monitor team performance against set objectives.

- Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team.

- Track and ensure execution of promotional strategies and campaigns.

Operational Excellence

- Strong focus on execution of organizational strategies and brand initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.

Key Skills Required

- Strong analytical, planning, and monitoring capabilities

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a simplified manner

- Effective people management and interpersonal skills

- Ability to coach and inspire teams

- High execution focus with strong follow-up discipline

- Proficiency in basic computer applications including MS Excel, Word, and Email

Preferred Background

- 3+ years of experience in a similar role as a First Line Manager within the same therapy

- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and team performance
